The Spoon

When I think about the term I think about the ones that died and left something to stand by.

Others may say the word shouldn't be used in our day because they used us as slaves.

But wait, you can call me a Nigga any day.

Many gave their lives to get us rights no matter that fight, so with the word I'm alright.

A Nigga was once a slave but look at us today and if wasn't for the ones lying in their grave...we probably wouldn't be here today.

We had slaves running this country before people could see the reality.

Think about the past and not about the names we were called, look at how many survived through it all.

The term Nigga was used to damage our pride but the pride is still alive for a lot of Niggas that has died.

They went down in history as a Nigga so why be offended when some were noble prize winners.

I live in today with a smile on my face knowing that I will die someday.

When I do depart this world, I don't want to be just an ole ordinary girl.

I will leave my mark just as they did, and I will take the term Nigga because I made it.

That's the main thing they didn't want us to do, they use to laugh because we didn't know 2+2...

It's funny how the world see Nigga as wrong,

But it was that Nigga that wanted all of us to get along,

The slaves may have been a piece of trash,

But in the end the Nigga's make history last...when I hear the word Nigga I think of a dream or how many fought for us to be free.

So if you call me a Nigga I'm well represented... I won't be shame or offended.

I live with my head high in the air simply because I really don't care...
